Whereas a regular inverter can only supply power to the meter box, a hybrid inverter can distribute the generated power between the meter box and a battery.  This makes a hybrid inverter indispensable for home battery or commercial battery storage systems.<\/p>\n<p>Hybrid inverters are connected directly to the PV strings (solar panels) and provide efficient power distribution: some of the generated power goes to the meter box for direct use or feed-in to the grid, while the rest is stored in the battery for later use.<\/p>\n<p>With a hybrid inverter, you get the most out of your solar power system and increase your independence from the grid.<\/p>\n<p><em>Important to know: Many existing installations do not have a hybrid inverter. In those cases, it is often necessary to replace the current inverter with a hybrid version. Keep in mind that this does not work with all systems. For example, if you have a micro-inverter system, such as those from Enphase or SolarEdge, an AC-coupled inverter is needed.
